About
A one-person project: what a gram of gold is worth right now, at every common karat, updated through the day.
I could not find a gold calculator that was both fast and honest.
The ones I tried were buried in ageing jewellery sites, wrapped in ads, or handed back a number with no clue where it came from. Half still quote per troy ounce, and almost nobody owns a troy ounce. A ring weighs four grams.
I wanted something plain: enter a weight, pick a karat, get a real number from today's price. No signup, no wall of ads. So I built it.
Who I am, and what this is
Not a gold dealer, not a jeweller, not a financial advisor. Someone who got tired of bad tools and built a better one.
What I have spent the time on: price data from a reliable market feed, arithmetic that is written out rather than hidden, and pages that work properly on a phone in a shop.
No team, no outside investors. The site is supported by display advertising, and I take no referral fee or commission from anyone who buys or sells gold.
Your personal data is not sold to gold buyers or dealers. See the Privacy Policy.

What you can do here
The per-gram price for 24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, 14K and 10K, also per pennyweight and per troy ounce.
Enter a weight and a karat and the calculator gives you the metal value. The scrap calculator takes a whole pile of items at once.
Charts and daily figures over 30 days and a year in Price History, plus a hallmark lookup in Gold Hallmarks.
Check today's price. Per gram at 24K, 22K, 21K, 18K, 14K and 10K.

Data and accuracy
Prices arrive from a live market feed and are converted to grams and karats before they reach the page. Nothing is smoothed, averaged across sources or adjusted after the fact, and if the feed is late or down the price is labelled rather than quietly filled in.
Like any spot quote, figures can differ slightly between providers because of timing and pricing conventions. Compare against another reference if you like; expect small differences, not large ones.
Melt value is a starting point. What a buyer actually pays depends on location, fees and the day. That part is a negotiation, and the payout slider is there so you can model whatever number you are quoted. The full calculation chain is in the Methodology.
